| McAfee VirusScan supports Windows XP Embedded |

Security software company McAfee has announced that its product VirusScan Enterprise 8.5i is now able to work with the Windows XP Embedded system.
This means that the software can be used in ATMs, airline kiosks and other applications, the company has claimed.
VirusScan Enterprise 8.5i combines protection against attempted take-overs with application-specific buffer-overflow technology.
Rees Johnson, vice president of product management for McAfee, said: "Many of our larger customers including financial institutions, major retail, and airlines have requested support for this platform.''
When a retail point is safer, customers can connect more efficiently, added Mr Johnson.
Protection from viruses, malware and most importantly the pilfering of customers' data is protected by the McAfee software, he continued.
Meanwhile, InfoWorld Magazine's latest product round-up has given McAfee's Policy Enforcer network access control product top marks.
